YOUR DATA. YOUR WAY.
Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy and Terms of Service describe how the Waywie mobile app and this website handle your information and community content. Contact us at contact@waywie.com with questions.
1. Who we are
Waywie is operated by the Waywie team. This policy covers the Waywie iOS and Android apps, sign-in services, and waywie.com. For privacy questions contact contact@waywie.com.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use Waywie we process account identifiers from Apple, Google, or email sign-in; profile and onboarding preferences; routes, photos, and text you create; location while you record or search; saved and published journey metadata; optional Apple Health workout imports when you choose them; and diagnostic or analytics data when you opt in.
3. Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, operate the feed and search, store and display routes you publish, personalize onboarding, secure the service, respond to reports, and improve reliability. Analytics runs only when you enable it in Settings. Denying a permission may limit a feature but does not by itself delete data already stored.
4. Sharing and public routes
Published routes may show your display name, route geometry, stop labels, photos, and captions to other signed-in users and on public share links. Unlisted routes stay out of the public feed but remain reachable to people with the link. We use cloud hosting, maps, email, and identity providers to run the service; they process data under our instructions and must provide the same or equal protection required by this policy.
5. Health and location
Location is used when you record a route or search places, with when-in-use permission on iOS. Apple Health access is optional and limited to workout types you import; Waywie does not write health data back to HealthKit. This marketing site does not access GPS or HealthKit.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep account data while your account is active. When you delete your account in Settings we begin removing profile data, routes, media, and sign-in access through our deletion worker. Backups and security logs may persist for a limited period where required. You can request help at contact@waywie.com.
7. Your choices
You can update preferences in the app, toggle analytics consent, block other members, report content, and delete your account from Settings. Revoking device permissions, signing out, or uninstalling the app is not the same as deleting your account. Contact contact@waywie.com for help.
8. Children and updates
Waywie is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. We may update this policy and will post changes on this site with a new effective date. Material changes may also be shown in the app when required.
